THREE riders recorded doubles at Saturday’s Dressage Ireland North Munster Region show at the Tipperary Equestrian Centre, where the judging duties were shared between Donie McNamara (List 1), Bernie Webb (List 3A) and Elena Satalkina (List 4).
Ella Brosnan scored twice at Novice level before Satalkina, who awarded her scores of 68.17% in the six-strong DI24A and 69.31 in the nine-runner DI21 for her performances on board her mother Orla’s nine-year-old chesnut gelding Cusack Boy.
Riding her Dutch Warmblood mare Norabel, a seven-year-old bay by Just Whimphof, Rosemary Gaffney recorded uncontested wins in the two FEI Para Grade IV classes judged by Bernie Webb, scoring 66.67% in the Grand Prix A and 66.22 in the Grand Prix B.
Webb also judged the two-runner FEI Junior Individual Test, where her winner, on 68.24%, was the very much in-form Evie Kennedy with Hilary Cavanagh’s Spanish gelding Cordobes XXXVI, a 22-year-old Jardon grey, on whom she also won the Donie McNamara-judged Team Test on 69.39.
In the McNamara-judged FEI Prix St George, Tara Oliver saw off two rivals to win with her Oldenburg gelding Senators Rhonaldo (66.03%), an 11-year-old son of Rhondeo.
Bernie Webb judged both Medium classes, where her winners were Grainne Murphy on her nine-year-old Pura Raza Española gelding Flamenco CCLXXXV (62.03% in the DI65) and Ann Glynn with her Irish Sport Horse mare Shanaclough Seattle (64.39 in the DI67). Ann Dalton recorded an uncontested win in the sole Advanced Medium class with her Ukrainian Warmblood gelding Burgomistr (63.09).

Not too surprisingly, the marks were higher at the lower levels, Webb awarding her marginally higher score of the day (68.75%) to Maeve Deverell, who topped the overall leaderboard in the Elementary DI52 on the home-bred ISH gelding Annaharvey Rozendal, a 12-year-old by Radolin. Third there, Claire Farrell won the three-runner DI51 with the French thoroughbred Renneti (67.59), a 12-year-old bay by Irish Wells.
The busy Webb also judged one of the three Preliminary classes, the DI8, from which there were four withdrawals leaving five starters. Her winner was Tara Oliver with Deirdre Martin’s unregistered Lendan (66.92%), a nine-year-old Cobra 18 gelding.
Elena Satalkina’s winners of the other two Preliminary classes were Sue Doyle and her 15-year-old black gelding Higgs Bosun, who scored 68.75% in the DI5A in the short arena, and Zoe Thompson with the Welsh Section B mare Goldengrove Maydream, a 12-year-old 133cm daughter of Holyoake Czar, who scored 70 in the DI18.
Satalkina also judged two combinations in the Trailblazers’ Preliminary class, where her winner on 73.39% was Ruadhan O’Carroll riding Kiltomer Jack.
