ON the opening day of the three-day show, it was Harrison Blair and Rockmount Farms’ L’Esprit Hero Z that took the honours in Friday’s 1.35m class, breaking the finish beams in 34.76 in the two-phase class.
Second place went to Ellie Humphries riding Jane Allen Collins’ home-bred Lougherne Kingfisher (Colestus x Limmerick), they stopped the clock at 36.95.
Louis Gates Hardiman and his family’s owned and bred eight-year-old Ravelle GH (Diamant de Semilly x Utrillo van de Heffinck) finished third in 37.11.
Cathal McMunn and Jonathan Reape’s Morning Edition (Tyson x Charante) was ridden into fourth by John McEntee in 37.92.
Humphries added a fifth place to her haul, when she rode Allison Mercer’s Rossmount Luis (Luidam x Clover Hill) to the fastest four-fault round.
Louis Gates Hardiman improved on his finish from Friday, when he guided Ravelle GH to the win in Saturday’s 1.35m class. The pair recorded a winning time of 30.20 to prove best in the 13 combination-strong two-phase class.
Cavan’s own Jamie Clarke and Makuna (Casall x Concerto II) were runners-up in 30.33, while Lily Gaines and Castle Lux Clover took third in 32.75.
John Floody and Tom McGurk’s Kannan Contessa (Kannan x VDL Arkansas) were fourth in 34.15 and Gates Hardiman rode Quintano GH (Kannan GFE x Utrillo van de Heffinck) into fifth.
Aiden Kileen and Prime Equipment Ltd’s Inlaws Orinoco (Harlequin Du Carel x Oklund) completed the line-up in sixth.
1.30m two-phase
Ellie Guy and Origi Van De Bandam (Cooper VD Heffinick x Indorado), owned by Chedington Equestrian, had a quick clear in Sunday’s 1.30m two-phase, clinching the win with a final round time of 29.51, more than two seconds faster than second placed Sean Kavanagh, who was also double clear with Castlebridge Logan (Tolan R x Thunder Van De Zuuthoeve). John McEntee was third in this class riding the eight-year-old Magnifique (Numero Uno x Voltaire), again with a double clear. Robert Harrison was fourth with his own Wicked Contender (Contendro II x Cavalier) and sixth with Inact Z (Ice Breaker E.B. x Karioka Del Follee), with Sean Foley in fifth aboard For Kinmar Hero Z (For Pleasure x Aganix du Seigneur).
1m two-phase
Cranny West (Cranny Vol Clover x Coevers Diamond Boy), bred by Flan Mc Namara, owned by Louise Halford and ridden by Kevin O’Reilly, won the 1m two-phase, which incorporated the five-year-old Hibernia Sport Horse league on Sunday. A double clear, with a second round time of 31.78 secured them the top-spot.
Marie Tritschler’s MHS Harlequin Di Busted (Harlequin Du Carel x Candle King), with Ben Tritschler in the saddle, took second place in 35.77.
BLM Authentic Diamond (Guidam x Master Imp), owned by Tom Doyle and ridden by Caroline Doyle, were third in 37.70.
Declan Gahan’s Brackleys Chanel (Casallo Z x Cheknov PZK) and Oisin Magee slotted into fourth place and were the highest placed five-year-old, while another five-year-old, Katie Conlon and Marble Arch Equine Ltd’s LS Epic Leap (Echonix x Orestus) were fifth.
Paddy Ward and his own Connaberry Matisse took sixth.
