AFTER over five years in the saddle, Bertram Allen has sold the 12-year-old gelding GK Casper to his Irish teammate Darragh Kenny.
The Canto 16 gelding has won multiple international classes under Allen, including the four-star World Cup qualifier in Toronto last year, as well as a five-star classes in Doha and Basel, and a four-star 1.55m in Wellington. He was also ridden as a young horse by the late Jack Dodd.
Commenting to World of Showjumping, Bertram said: “I’m delighted to have sold GK Casper on to Darragh. He has been a brilliant horse for me over the last few years with many great results. I have some fond memories with him, and I hope Darragh will have great success with him.”
Kenny made his debut with GK Casper in Wellington last weekend where they jumped two classes with no faults, including finishing runner-up in Thursday’s national 1.35m class to earn €1,000. On social media, Kenny said: “Thank you to Bertram Allen and the Ballywalter team for all the years put into developing this spectacular horse.”
