MEATH’s Alexander Butler had much to celebrate as he took the win in the 1.45m/Big Tour at Poznan Wola CSI4*, Poland last Thursday. Riding Eindhoven G.H., the Kells native proved fastest of 14 double clears in a time of 68.11.
Butler also took sixth place in the CHSI1* with Lyberlino H when the pair recorded a clear in 66.61.
Riesenbeck CSI2*
Meanwhile, Eoin McMahon was in flying form at Riesenbeck CSI2*, taking the runner-up spot in the CSIYH1* Youngster Cup. Riding Zimes Square, he lodged a clear in a time of 31.07. On Friday, the young Irishman put in a great performance to claim victory in the 1.45m. Riding Chacon 2, Eoin lodged the winning time of 67.17. From a starting field of 44, McMahon was one of just five double clears and was over a second faster than his closest rival. He added to his haul on Saturday when he took fifth place in the 1.40m, with Con Corrado 4, clear in 42.38.
In the 1.35m on Saturday, Mayo’s Cameron Hanley took sixth place with Crooner D’Hurencourt Z, clear in 70.10.
Lichtenvoorde CSI3*
On Thursday, Derry’s Daniel Coyle claimed the runner-up spot in the CSI3* 1.50m when he partnered Ariel Grange’s Oak Grove’s Carlyle to a clear in 68.38. Coyle was narrowly defeated as Frank Schuttert and Farmers Girl Hs stopped the clock in a time of 68.22. Further down this line-up in fourth place was Antrim’s Conor Drain with Imagine, who also delivered a clear, in a time of 70.71.
Kiefer Dawson Stanley secured a sixth place finish in the CSI1* 1.30m on Thursday with Jumping Jack Van De Kalevallei, when they came home clear in a time of 65.95. On Saturday, Sophie Dalm took a fifth place finish in the 1.45m aboard Guilliette. The pairing crossed the line with nothing to add in a time of 41.73.
Bonheiden CSI*
In Bonheiden on Thursday, Thomas O’Brien took sixth place in the CSI1* with Palimera GE when they stopped the clock with nothing to add in 32.29.
