WEXFORD’s Harry Allen (17) had plenty to smile about last week, racking up two wins at Valkenswaard. He first took the win in the 1.35m Table A with EH Quick Nina, lodging a clear in 55.75. Allen was almost two seconds faster than his closest rival Jemma Kirk and Quelisto, who clocked 57.20.

Allen also took the runner-up place in the 1.40m Grand Prix when he delivered a clear with Cheese WZ. Winner of the Grand Prix was Will Edwards and SHW Candies B.

However, Allen went one better in the 1.25m Tour, when he lodged the winning round with Fairytale, clear in 35.05.

Last Wednesday in the CSI1* Small Tour 1.15m, Frederick Goltz and Doe Maar II finished in third place when they recorded a clear in 35.66 while in the medium 1.40m Tour, Tipperary’s Trevor Breen and Billy Drizzle lodged a clear in 56.59.

Win for Drain

ANTRIM’s Conor Drain was back in the winner’s enclosure at Wierden CSI2* last week.

Riding Forever, he lodged the winning round in the 1.45 class, double clear in 43.28 seconds. Earlier in the week, the combination also took fifth place in the 1.40m when they delivered a clear in 68.61.

Last Saturday, Diarmuid Howley and Mithney Z took the runner-up spot in the CSI2* small tour, going clear in 64.45.
