Three-star French win for Billy Twomey

CORK’s Billy Twomey and the Irish Sport Horse stallion Ardcolum Duke won last Saturday’s three-star 1.40m at the French show in Reims. Twomey was the fastest of 15 clear rounds in a time of 66.63 seconds with Joe Flynn’s 15-year-old traditionally-bred stallion by Gypsy Duke.

Duffy second in two-star Dutch Grand Prix

MAYO’s Michael G Duffy finished second in the two-star Grand Prix of Tubbergen, The Netherlands, last Sunday. Riding the 11-year-old stallion SIEC Captain Future Z, Duffy was one of eight double clear rounds and his time of 39.76 second was just slower that Dutchman Marc Houtzager and Sterrehof’s Dante (0/0 38.74).

Hutchinson fourth in Saugerties, USA

KILKENNY’s Michael Hutchinson finished fourth in the two-star Grand Prix in Saugerties, USA, last Sunday riding the 14-year-old mare Nektarina B, who is owned by Candy Tribble. The mare was previously ridden by Marion Hughes and Emma O’Dwyer. Hutchinson faulted once in the five-horse jump-off to earn €4,500.

Megahey fifth

HAROLD Megahey finished fifth in the two-star 1.45m Grand Prix in Bonheiden, Belgium last Sunday. Riding Glenpatrick Sport Horses and Ashford Farm’s eight-year-old mare La Perla vd Heffinck, Megahey picked up a single time fault in the first round to place fifth and collect €1,500.

Victory went to Belgium’s Niels Bruynseels and Holsteins Matina.
