DUBLIN show jumper Matt Garrigan scored a three-star win in Ommen, The Netherlands, last Friday aboard the Irish Sport Horse HHS Seattle.

From 58 starters in the 1.50m jump-off class, just nine made it through to the second round, where four delivered another clear round. Garrigan was the fastest of the four in 39.14 seconds with the Anne Hughes-bred nine-year-old mare by Pacino who is out of HHS Chantilly Lace (Cavalier Royale). Germany’s Max Lill finished second with Dexter Bois Margot (0/0 39.46).

Alexander Butler and Nano Healy were among three riders to share victory in the Puissance on Friday night. Both riders jumped the final round of 2.15m. Butler rode Tirnaskea Stud’s 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding Pico (Chekhov PZK x Carrolls Flight), who was bred by Norman Allen, while Healy guided the 11-year-old stallion Take a Last Chance van de Braembeier H to a clear.

Conor Drain finished fifth in the 1.50m three-star Grand Prix on Sunday. He guided the nine-year-old gelding Imagine to pick up a single time fault in the first round which saw them progress to the second round, where they were clear in 45.85 seconds to earn €4,200. Victory went to Dutchman Remco Been with Holland vd Bisschop (0/0 41.71).

Drain also finished third in Sunday’s one-star Grand Prix with Louis Vuitton van de Wouwerse Veld after producing one of eight double clears. Drain secured victory in the one-star division on Saturday when guiding Clementine to win the 1.30m two-phase class in 33.35 seconds.

Shane Breen scored a runner-up finished in Saturday’s three-star 1.45m Table C Speed and Handiness. Riding the 10-year-old mare Haya, he was clear in 62.40 seconds to take a prize of €5,100. The previous day, Breen was fourth in the 1.45m with his own Cuick Star Kervec when clear in 42.76 seconds, just ahead of Sophie Dalm in fifth with Volnay de Choc Z.

Rachel Gredley (née Wyse) is enjoying being back competing at international level and, off the back of a win at Bolesworth International, heading to Ommen where she won Saturday’s 1.20m final aboard the 11-year-old mare Alicante Z with a clear round against the clock in 31.42 seconds. Gredley also finished fourth with Jalanna.
