GALWAY’s Sven Hadley got his week off to another great start in the Valencia Tour in Spain when he claimed the seven-year-old 1.30m with the Hadley Sport Horses-owned and bred stallion HSH Harper du Seigneur (Aganix du Seigneur Z x Chippison). He delivered a clear in 62.91, which was almost three seconds faster than his closest rival.
Hadley also won the five-year-old class with the Mary McEvoy-bred Manorview Lady Jane 17 (Kroongraaf x Moot Point). In the six-year-old 1.20m, Hadley’s partner Tori Dunne took fourth place with Z Seven Amour, clear in 61.61.
The next day, the results continued when Hadley claimed the two-star 1.30m with Topspin when they came home with nothing to add in a time of 59.54. Hadley was joined in the line-up by Shane Dalton who took second place with the Sharon Fitzpatrick-owned Greenforest Candy, when clear in 62.88.
Hadley completed the hat-trick when he went on to take the win in the seven-year 1.35m once again with the stallion HSH Harper du Seigneur, when he was one of 12 double clears in a time of 29.54.
Irish contingent
Tori Dunn got the ball rolling for the Irish contingent on Saturday morning as she took the runner-up spot in the 1.30m. Riding Jarlath Fahy’s Sumas Taloubet, she delivered a double clear in 27.68. Hadley then won the two-star 1.30m when the fastest of the pack with Topspin in 32.99 seconds.
