THE Dutch Masters hosted the five-star Rolex Grand Prix of ‘s-Hertogenbosch on Sunday, which is part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping and attracts the best in the world to compete for the much-coveted prize. The Grand Slam comprises major tournaments at Aachen, Spruce Meadows and Geneva, alongside ‘s-Hertogenbosch and anyone, who wins three of the shows in a row, receives one million euros on top of the prize money from each show. There are also additional bonuses for anyone who wins two of the shows.

Tipperary’s Denis Lynch and the 15-year-old gelding Brooklyn Heights were among the 40 world-class competitors on Sunday’s start list and also among the nine combinations to jump clear in the first round and proceed to the jump-off.

The pair jumped clear again in a time of 37.89 seconds to claim fifth place and prize money of 60,000 euro. The class was won by Willem Greve (NED) riding Highway TN N.O.P. whose time of 33.70 seconds could not be beaten.

Placings

Last Friday, March 8th, saw Lynch finish 10th with Mr Boombastic in the CSI5* 1.40m Two-Phase class, while Bertram Allen rode Gary de Cerisy into 10th in the CSI5* 1.45m class.

On Saturday Lynch and Mr Boombastic placed seventh in the CSI5* 1.45m Indoor Derby, while in the CSI5* 1.50m class, he rode Brooklyn Heights into fifth place. In the CSI5* 1.45m class on Sunday, Lynch placed ninth with Cordial.
