KILKENNY’S Richie Moloney continued to exhibit his stellar form and that of his string by accumulating $42,000 in prize money with second and third in the $120,000 three-star 1.50m jump-off class at Tryon International Equestrian Center and Resort on Saturday.
Samuel Parot (CHI) took the win in this class with his second clear round on Chrystal Blue clocked in a rapid 38.03 seconds.
Moloney, who had been on the top spot on the podium earlier in the week, navigated the two courses faultlessly four times in total and it was Coco Beach (Casall x San Patrignano Corrado) that secured the runner-up slot, with Skelwith Diamond Lady (Kalaska De Semilly x Balou Du Rouet) securing third.
Moloney’s winning week at Tryon 6 began with him leading the parade following victory in the three-star 1.45m Speed Stake at Tryon on Friday on the veteran Rocksy Music (ISH).
The Kilkenny pilot has been accumulating ribbons galore across the Atlantic in the past few months and combined with this 16-year-old gelding, bred in Co Waterford by Stephen Keane and owned by Equinimity LLC, to add a winner’s medal to the bounty.
Rocksy Music may be 16, but he still showed the opposition a clean pair of heels, answering every call from Moloney to stop the clock on 63.19 seconds, leaving every pole untouched.
Second to Moloney in this class was US rider Adam Sklansky riding Hakini, followed by Juan Jose Bancalari Elmudesi of The Dominican Republic riding Cascais HC.
Moloney has had a very successful run at TIEC taking a huge win in the $210,000 Tryon Grand Prix for the Governor’s Cup FEI CSI four-star on June 6th with Caribus Z, owned by Equanimity LLC. Aboard the seasoned Alsvid, a seasoned 2001 Hanoverian gelding, Moloney added another victory on Thursday, July 9th, besting a class of 31.
Rocksy Music (ISH) is a 2008 gelding by ARS Vivendi (HOLST) out of Krafty Kate (ISH) by Diamond Serpent (ISH) bred by Richie Moloney.
