Killian Norris third in Opglabbeek
KILLIAN Norris finished third in last Friday’s 1.40m at the two-star show in Sentower Park, Belgium. Riding VBD Equestrian Stables’ nine-year-old King Van Essene, he delivered a clear in 62.90 seconds.
The combination then finished fifth in Saturday’s 1.40m, and were clear in the first round of Sunday’s two-star Grand Prix, before faulting once against the clock to finish 10th.
Earlier in the week, Peter Moloney was also in the ribbons when he partnered Carmel Ryan’s Irish-bred stallion Compelling Z to a clear in the 1.40m in 63.85 for third place. Sophie Dalm was also in action at the venue and finished fifth in the one-star seven-year-old final with Volnay de Choc Z.
Runner-up place for Noelle Barry
COMPETING in in Humlikon, Switzerland, Clare show jumper Noelle Barry took the runner-up spot in Sunday’s 1.40m with Ruedi Müller’s 10-year-old mare Elzarena. They delivered a clear in 36.21. Victory went to Germany’s Lauren Budde and Gosbodino 2 (0/0 34.08).
Third place finish for Gordon
MAYO’s Jonathan Gordon finished in third in the 1.45m in Lastrup, Germany last weekend. Riding his own Sunny, he delivered a clear in 40.40. Winner of the class was Germany’s Johannes Ehning and C-Jay 3, who delivered a clear in 39.18.
