MARES had to go through two qualifiers to earn a place in Sunday’s 1.20m mares’ championship final.

KEC Klassique, a six-year-old mare by OBOS Quality, owned and bred by Bill Kennedy, was ridden to the top-spot by Darryl Walker.

The pair produced the only sub-40 jump-off time of 39.54 to secure the win.

KEC Mona Mia (Lancelot x Glidawn Diamond), owned by Liam Neville, bred by Anna Kennedy and ridden by Baylee Neville, took the runner-up spot in 40.33.

Third went to Peter McMahon riding Martell Me This by Martell, owned by the rider and bred by Sean Mulkern.

Aisling McGreal rode her own Rincoola Macushla (Obos Quality 004 x Touchdown), bred by Harold McGahern, into fourth. Fifth was Noel Elliot’s home-bred mare DPS Khalessi, with Dominic Curley in the saddle.

Sven Hadley and Raw Interiors’ Jessy van de Heide by Non-Stop, bred by Steven Ennekens, completed the line up in sixth place.
