THE Millstreet-bred legend, Millstreet Ruby, who had a superb international career under riders from the Army Equitation School, is aptly remembered in the championship final for five-year-olds.

This year’s champion Billerough Stables’ Thera van Heiste is a Belgian-bred mare by Nevados S out of a mare by Contact vd Heffinck.

She was bred by Patrick Gillis and ridden to victory by Rhys Williams in a six-way jump-off time of 39.49.

Second went to Shane Goggins aboard Ger O’Brien’s home-bred gelding Kileaneys Mr T by Tyson, out of a mare by Askoll Peter Pan, the duo stopped the clock in 39.91.

MMS Alexa (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Camiro de Haar Z), owned by Emer Kavanagh, bred by Mary McShane and ridden by Aoife Dooley, took third place in 41.40.

Jessica Stallard’s Olivia Garden TN by Highway M TN, out of a mare by Cavalier, was bred by G Maaskant and ridden into fourth place by Dylan Savage.

Anna White and Fergal White’s Belgian-bred stallion Zuperman BC Z (Zirocco Blue VDL x Carthino Z), bred in Butler Court Stables, finished in fifth.

Sixth place went to Emma O’Dwyer riding her own Ardragh Celtic Breeze, a mare bred by Oliver Ward by Celtic Hero BZ out of Ardragh Gi Jane.
