JOHN Jordan from Meath RC took the opening win of the second leg of the Linda Moore Spring show jumping league at Lullymore EC, Co Kildare last weekend.

Jordan and Royal Rebel won the primary class, ahead of second-placed Deirdre Lynch and Mylo from Rathfarnham RC.

Of the 10 entries in the advanced primary class, the only clear round was ridden by Coleman Larkin from Moyglare RC. This earned Coleman and his horse Shadow first place. On four faults and closest to the optimum time, Vicki Mason and Pascol from Abbeylands Rc took second place.

The sportsman class also had 10 entries and tok place over the advanced primary track. The winners were Rebecca Sermon and Lenamore Queenie from host club Riverside. Moira Dunne and Belb from Moyglare took second place.

Seven of the starting 23 in the intermediate class went clear t get into the jump-off, where Sara Wood, winner of the first leg of the league, earned her second win in a row with Whacky Jack for Celbridge RC. The pair were clear in the jump-off in 32.69 seconds, ahead of Megan Delaney and Elphame from Ballyteague who were clear in 39.14.

Of the 20 competitors in the advanced intermediate class, five went through to jump-off against the clock. Greenhills RC dominated in this class with members taking first, second and fourth place. Phidelma Elvin won the class with bay gelding Cloud after riding a clear round in the jump off in 30.2 seconds. Sean Rooney and Finn took second place in 32.06.

In the open class Liam Gaffney from Winterdown RC had a stellar performance, riding the only two clear rounds in the class and taking first and second place with Wembley and Knockalane Silvano.
