SHEIKH Samir Mirdad was in record-breaking form at Cavan International Horse Show last weekend.
Mirdad enjoyed a great outing at the show and was crowned Leading Rider at the show and in doing so, also broke a 32-year-old Cavan show record being the only rider to have won Leading Rider in September and November Shows in the same year.
Not content with that, Samir placed first, second, third, fourth, fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth in last Wednesday’s one-metre class. “This is being submitted to the Guinness Book of Records this week,’’ said Samir.
Cavan EC’s Stuart Clarke commented: “Shiekh Samir Mirdad was on fire at our November show. Breaking the World record is a major achievement and was a near impossible task as there were well over 120 competitors in the class. He also won Leading rider and by doing this he became the first person to win Leading Rider in both the September and November show in the 32 years at Cavan. My family and I are extremely proud of him and are happy this record was broken in Cavan.”
