THE O’Reilly Hyland-sponsored four-year-old final was held on Saturday afternoon in Barnadown. The top 20 youngsters, which had qualified over two days on Thursday and Friday, went forward to be judged by David Quigley and Alain Storm.
Boleybawn Horses’ gelding Boleybawn Aden came out on top, scoring a total of 106.5 to claim the lion’s share of the €7,500 on offer.
By Dignified Van’t Zorgvliet out of Arina by Crown Z, he was bred by the owner and ridden by Quinn McElhinney.
Declan Dooley’s GD Quality Jack (Vivant Van De Heffinck x Oakville Air Quality), bred by Diana H Warrington, was ridden into the runner-up spot by junior rider Gary Dooley. They were awarded a score of 105.
Young rider Timmy Brennan guided his father Tim’s stallion, Mayweather (Aganix du Seigneur x Air Jordan), bred by Martina Romagnoli, into third place on a score of 104.5.
The Marion Hughes-owned and bred mare HHS Evora (Stakkato Gold x Darco) was guided to a score of 104 for fourth place by Maria Vozone.
Jennifer Torrens and her own Dutch-bred gelding Parrera (Carrera VDL x Quidam Rubin) were awarded 103.5 for fifth.
Shane Kenny and his own mare Leestone Emeresky (Emerald Van’t Ruytershof x Cornet Oblensky), bred by John McKibben, completed the line-up in sixth with a score of 102.5.
