IT was a busy weekend for riders, as Tipperary marked the start of the DAFM Studbook Series show jumping on Saturday. In the five-year-old division, 23 combinations delivered double clears, which had a shared prize fund of €2,200.
In the six-year-olds, 26 delivered double clears, which had a shared prize fund of €2,400. See our results pages (105-109) for the combinations who went clear to win their share of the prize fund in this class.
Taking the win in the seven-year-old division was Paul Beecher riding Tim Beecher’s Loughnatousa Buachail, when they were the fastest of 15 double clears in a time of 24.78. Bred by the late Noel Cawley, this gelding is by Sligo Candy Boy and is out of the Samgemjee-sired dam, Sammy Jee.
Little separated the next placing, as Eddie Moloney and the Seamus Drea-owned Cornascriebe Emerald came home in a time of 25.03. This gelding is by Emerald and is out of the Ballinvella-sired dam, Cornascriebe Vella.
Beecher took another share of the prize fund, when he put in another foot-perfect performance with Brogagh Darcy in a time of 25.09 for third place. Owned by Paul’s wife, Seryna Van Kuelen, the mare is by Dakar VDL and is out of the Warrenstown WE 3-sired dam, Brocka Cruising Lucy.
Fourth place belonged to Molly Hughes Bravo and HHS Mercedes, clear in a time of 25.31. Owned and bred by Bravo Hughes Ltd, the mare is by Can Ya Makan and out of the Couletto-sired dam, Chester Lass.
Slotting into fifth place was Tony O’Donohue, who was riding the Alan Robertson-owned, I Herbies Luidam, clear in 25.33. Bred by his owner, the gelding is by Luidam and out of the Ukato-sired dam, Cladda Katie.
Completing the top six was Robert Splaine and Coolcorron Lone Ranger, clear in 26.02. This home-bred stallion, is by Tyson and out of Jokers Bell.
