DCS Ludos Shirsheen, ridden and owned by Linda Murphy, won the McGarry Sport Horses four-year-old final on Saturday at the Cavan Winter Horse Festival.
By Pilothago TN, out of CSF Lulu (Luidam), he was bred by Claire Stevenson. Judges Daren Hopkins, Mark Cleary and Paddy O’Donnell awarded the pair the top mark of 192.6 to secure the title.
Marion Hughes’ Belgian-bred mare Gitta VD Berghoeve Z (Gitano x Gem of India), bred by Paul van den Bosch, finished in second place with a score of 190.3. Edward Little and David Cross’ mare Carnlea Chinos Lulu (Luidam x Pacino) took third with 187.3. Fourth was Leah Stack riding Micheal Duffy’s stallion Bogdan (Diamant De Semilly x Chellano Z) on 187.2.
Olive Clarke rode her own Crosskeys Mega Star (Big Star x VDL Douglas), bred by Matthew McBreen, into fifth with 186.9. Sixth was William Hickey’s Dutch-bred mare Piccolini (Bustique x Lord), with Emma O’Dwyer on board, on a score of 185.3.
