PUNCHESTOWN Racecourse was the venue for the second leg of the ever-popular Linda Moore show jumping league hosted by Killcarrick Riding Club and sponsored by Kilcullen-based The Trailer Clinic.
Jan McKenna took the judge’s seat while competitors tackled Georgui Gueorguiev’s course.
The primary class was won by Samantha Kenny riding River for Maynooth RC, with Winterdown’s Sharon Conroy taking second place with Bright Spark.
Some 18 riders contested the advanced primary class, with the best of these being Janelle Gervin from Abbeylands RC riding She’s Bella, who came closest to the optimum time. Rathfarnham’s Padraig Fennessy and Zara claimed second place.
The sportsmans class was won by Susannah Francke and Kizzy for Celbridge RC, leaving Abbeylands member Tracy Scoffl in second place with Cruise.
Moyglare’s Marie Dunne and her mare Bella won the competitive intermediate class, finishing in a time of 41.90 seconds in the jump-off while second place went to Ann Benson. The Abbeylands member and her mare Millie were hot on Dunne’s heels with a time of 42.18.
The advanced intermediate class yielded a fantastic win for Eamonn Moore riding his grey hunter Big Ger for Abbeylands, which left Greenhills member Olwen Butler on Santero in second.
Three competitors made it through to the jump-off in the open class, where Abbeylands secured another win through Jurgita Zelvyter and Loughanure Chippy. Second went to Cill Dara’s Emer Hegarty and her mount The Dambuster, while third went to Liam Gaffney and Wembley for Winterdown.
