THE final leg of the Jumpinaction.net and Jod-Z Secondary Schools novice jumping league got under way on Sunday, February 2nd at Killossery Lodge Stud. The overall league winner was Chloe Dunne and Cuffstown Princess. However, the day’s jumping top spot was won for another consecutive week by Ruby Lynch and Our Molly from Maynooth Education Campus in a time of 34.19. Lynch also secured second place in the league. Following on her heels was Alice Manoliu and Money Quid Queen representing St Wolstan’s, who moved up to take second place on Sunday in a close time of 34.55. Ciara Wall and Jasper Himself moved from sixth to third place with a time of 36.43. Bobbie Branagan and Barna Belle from Templeogue College, jumped up from fifth to fourth this week in 40.40 and Alice Harten secured the fifth place with Mandy in a time of 41.91. The final spot in the top six went to Kate Teahan and Pierce in 44.83.

Secondary teams

The Jumpinaction.net and Jod-Z secondary school teams’ class had five teams competing for the winning spot. Three schools made it through to the jump- off, with a successful team from St Mac Dara’s and St Wolstan’s moving up from third to take the top slot and winning the league overall on this final day. Remaining in second position for a second week was Drogheda Grammar School. Eureka Secondary School Blue moved down to third this week, placing these riders second in the league on this final day. The fourth place position went again to the team from Maynooth Education Campus, and once again Mount Sackville secured fifth this week to finish the Interschools team competition.

Open individual final

In the final of the Jumpinaction.net and Jod-Z 90/95cm Open Individual Show Jumping class, it was Legends Mate ridden by Crea Byrne who hit the top spot for the second time in a winning time of 36.68 to take joint first place in the overall league with Ruby Morris and Kilmorgan Star. Riding close on Crea’s heels and securing a second consecutive position was Ross Mullen representing Drogheda ETSS and Captain’s Orders in a time of 37.43. The third place slot this week went to Sadhbh O’Toole on Toby from Maynooth Education Campus in a time of 37.64. Alice Manoliu from St Wolstan’s slotted into fourth position on Money Quid Queen in a time of 38.13. Ruby Morris and her second horse, Mighty Brave from Eureka, took fifth this week in a time of 49.58. Lastly, Anabel Townshend and Eric, representing Ursuline Secondary School, made the placings for the first time, to secure sixth place.

Novice final

The final of the Jod-Z Primary Interschools Novice Individuals had 12 keen riders jumping with 4 successful double clears. Jessi Grogan and Molly M jumping for Scoil Mhuire Carlanstown took the first double clear of the Primary Novice final. Kaela Leamy and Abby representing St Mary’s Primary School secured another clear round.

The third double clear went to Kate Keegan and Kimmy Coo from Powerscourt NS and the fourth successful double clear went to Jill Conmy and Roxy from Rathcoffey NS.

The overall league was won by Chloe Mollaghan and Twiglet representing Rathbeggan with the second place awarded to Winni Gunn and her pony Candy from St Peter’s NS.

Primary open

The Jod-Z Primary Interschools Open Individual had 12 riders jumping for the final league placings on Sunday. Taking first place on the day was Robin Lynch and Mojo from Kilcoon NS, who also amazingly took the first and second placings in the overall league. second place went to Lily Dunne and Parcglass Golden Venture, also representing Kilcoon. Remaining in the top six, coming third this week, was Isabelle Conmy, on her pony Miss Ever So Clever. Rosita Dunne jumped into the fourth spot with Jack Sparrow. The final saw Eve Morrin and Almighty Alvin take the fifth position and the last slot went to Kate Sharkey and Crimson and Clover representing Moynalty.

Primary teams

The Jod-Z Primary team competition had three teams battling it out in the final. The winning team was made up from representatives from Lismullen/Moynalty/Scoile Mhuire Carlanstown who also placed second in the league. Second place went to Kilcloon NS, who won the overall league by one point. Third place went to a team from Enfield/Maynooth.
