Great show coverage

MADAM,

THE first stop on a Saturday morning is to pick up The Irish Field, a paper that has been read in our household for too many years to mention.

It’s quickly divided in two, with yours truly getting the Irish Horse World and “himself” pouring over the rest.

The July 7th edition is one that will be read and re-read. For years I have wanted the County Longford Show & Country Fair show covered in your paper and was delighted when the wonderful Susan Finnerty was free to travel to Longford that Sunday morning to cover our 116th show. Her attention to detail and accurate reporting made the Around the Country page a compact and informative read.

The County Longford Show & Country Fair show is one that is growing year on year. This has been aided by a number of things, our success in having our show moved from a Saturday to a Sunday, by our continued support of our loyal sponsors, exhibitors and our vast amount of volunteers.

We strive each year to produce a complete catalogue and believe it’s only fair on everyone, exhibitors and spectators alike to do so. This is one of the most expensive and time-consuming parts of the show and an incomplete catalogue is of no use to anyone, either standing at the ring or doing up results.

We are delighted with the coverage and simply had to say “Thank you” to all in The Irish Field for giving our show space. Well done on a brilliant publication and keep up the good work!

Yours etc
