Hopeful of change at HSI

MADAM,

I REFER to your correspondence with HSI and the reply received to your legitimate questions in last week’s edition of The Irish Field.

Clearly, nothing has changed in the first week of the Minister’s intervention. To be quite honest I am not surprised as this has been the modus operandi of said organisation for a considerable period of time. The lack of respect for stakeholders in the equestrian sports industry displayed by some members of HSI professional staff is staggering.

I hope the new chairman and directors appointed by Minister McConalogue take note and are prepared to address this issue as a matter of priority.

We wish the new board well in their endeavours; clearly, the challenges they meet will be considerable.
