IHB elections carried out in accordance with rules
Madam,
IN response to the letter published in last week’s The Irish Field I would like to express my disappointment that the Irish Horse Board was not contacted by your correspondent with any such queries regarding the IHB elections.
The IHB elections were carried out in accordance with the Irish Horse Board rules and ICOS guidelines.
Readers may not be aware that the shareholder database is maintained by Horse Sport Ireland. All eligible shareholder information was provided by Horse Sport Ireland to the Irish Horse Board and all people on this list were invited to make nominations and to vote in these elections. We have no reason to doubt the accuracy of this list.
Therefore, all eligible shareholders received ballot papers with receipt of postage retained by the Irish Horse Board. We are currently engaging with Horse Sport Ireland to ensure that the current information is received and retained by the Irish Horse Board on the Irish Horse Board database. We are currently liaising with ICOS for assistance regarding this matter.
We have received four queries directly regarding the IHB elections which were dealt with immediately to the satisfaction of the members. We look forward to the election outcomes and working together for the benefit of the sport horse industry in Ireland.
Should any of you wish to contact us directly please don’t hesitate to email us on irishhorseboard@outlook.com.
Yours etc,
Tiernan Gill
IHB Chairman
