I FULLY concur with the points raised by Kieran Connors in his letter to you in The Irish Field (January 9th 2021). To my mind Greenogue falls well short of being OR being transformed into an Equestrian “Centre of Excellence”. It simply does not have the space or the infrastructure ... There is plenty of space at the National Sports Campus at Abbotstown which has been earmarked for equestrian use.

HSI is an administrative body and their offices would not need to be located at the “Centre of Excellence”. Will the affiliates move to Greenogue? They have not even been consulted about the move?

I believe the McCarthy family at Greenogue are still going to facilitate their livery business and they will still offer schooling and lessons. It is a perfect grass roots venue.

The lack of transparency in this whole announcement is beyond reason, and I sincerely hope it is not a ‘Done Deal’
