MADAM,

ON behalf of Sara, Alan and myself, I would like to thank you for including the lovely piece about Charlotte’s passing. We know that she would have been totally overwhelmed by the sympathies and expressions of condolence that she has received, as indeed are we.

It would just not be possible for me to respond to them all individually and I hope that you will allow me to use a few lines of your paper to express our thanks and appreciation to everyone who attended her funeral, expressed sympathy and sent cards or made a donation in her memory. It has meant so much to us all at this difficult time. To one and all, a very big thank you.
