GALWAY international horse businessman Enda Carroll will continue to work closely in the future with Brazil’s Marlon Zanotelli and Sweden’s Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli after it was announced that the couple, who have been his stable riders, will be setting up their own business from next January 1st 2017.
The talented Brazilian rider, now ranked 74 in the world rankings, first started working for Carroll’s flagship Ashford Farm in Bocholt, Belgium, in January 2011 and Angelica joined in 2014. The couple married last year and have a new baby girl Melissa to which Enda and his sister Elaine are godparents.
Wishing Marlon and Angelica every success, Enda Carroll told The Irish Field yesterday: “It’s their moment in life to do it, it’s the perfect time for them. We will still be working together anyway. They will still ride for me and I’ll send them some horses. They will be setting up in this region, they have a house in the same village (Bocholt).”
“We have had a fantastic time together and remain close friends. Marlon and Angelica are at the stage in their life and careers where they have to give their own business a go. We will continue to work and have horses together. I wish Marlon and Angelica the best of luck and I am sure they will have instant success.”
The couple plan to stay in the same general area having bought a house. They are currently looking to rent a stable yard and plan to build up their business with some nice young horses.
“It was a very hard decision to take. Enda is like family to me and we are so close to all the people working in Ashford. We really appreciate that Enda supports our decision and we are very happy he is willing to help us to start this new chapter,” said Marlon.
