ONE rider thanking her lucky stars this weekend is Joanna Penfold who collected her West Wood/Ifor Williams horsebox in Naas earlier this week.
Joanna claimed the amateur title at the final leg of Jumping In The City at Shelbourne Park recently. She rode the grey Irish Sport Horse King Cruise, a 1999 gelding by Cruising. Joanna will be competing the grey at the RDS amateur classes next week.
Alan and Sam Cole and Frank Shaw were on hand to wish Joanna and all her family well with the new HB511 West Wood/Ifor Williams horsebox, complete with fitted tack box.
Speaking on behalf of West Wood Alan Cole said: “West Wood Trailers were delighted to present the winner of the Amateur Jumping In The City class, Joanna Penfold from Co Tipperary, with her new horsebox.” The rider was joined by her husband Gerard and their three children Oliver, Harriet and Zoe.
Joanna Penfold said: “I could not be more delighted with such an incredible prize for the amateur class for Jumping in the City, it was absolutely brilliant to be part of this fantastic new competition. What an amazing experience to be part of it, jumping at those great venues with some of the top riders.
“It was really well organised, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. This is now the highlight of the amateur year and everyone is talking about it on the amateur circuit.”
