HORSE Sport Ireland has issued 366 foal passports in the last seven days, taking the percentage of passports issued via Horse Source, the new system introduced in July, up to 45% of applications made. This equates to 67% of the breeders who have returned foal kits to HSI having their foal passports issued.

Of the 6,334 applications received via Horse Source, a total of 2,877 passports have been issued to breeders. There are 817 samples currently returned by the lab to be quality checked by HSI.

Under the ‘other services’ banner, which includes change of ownership and endorsements, a total of 37 amended passports were issued this week, bringing the total to 1653 (of 2219).
