AIMEE Barry has been named the GAIN Equine Nutrition/ The Irish Field Star of the Month for November.
Barry has had an amazing run of form recently. She and her horse, Garryndruig Limoncello, had a succession of show jumping wins at 1.35m level, but also claimed the 1.40m Jump-Off Challenge at Cavan’s November Winter Festival.
Aimee, who is from Limerick, is in her final year of studying veterinary in Dublin, so she has been trying to fit her show jumping schedule around her studies. She and Garryndruig Limoncello have been competing in the SJI Autumn Grand Prix League and managed to secure wins in the first four legs of this six-leg league. More recently, the pair won a 1.20m class at Tipperary.
Aimee clearly has a great partnership with Garryndruig Limoncello, a 10-year-old mare by Amaretto Darco out of Garryndruig Cruising Akademi by Cruising, who is owned by Joe Barry and was bred by Geri McGeoghan-Santry. The level of consistency that the pair have shown is worthy of note. Congratulations Aimee!
