Allen’s charity race

BERTRAM Allen will ride the Gordon Elliott-trained Flaxen Flare in today’s (Saturday) Punchestown Charity Race at 6.40pm. Joe Sloan’s nine-year-old won the 2013 Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and his last win came in May 2015 at Down Royal. RDS changes

FOLLOWING last week’s announcement, the Dublin Horse Show clarified that it is compulsory for all four and five-year-olds horses in their initial year of competition to have competed in a minimum of three shows in the current year by the time of entry to the 2018 show. Five-year-old horses who have competed in 2017 may include this experience to fulfil the requirement.
