IRISH show jumping received a much needed boost this week with the announcement that TRI/TRM, in conjunction with The Showjumpers Club, are sponsoring the live streaming of the show jumping action from the HSI Autumn Development Grand Prix Series.

The events will be free to watch on irishsport.tv and will back up the efforts of Horse Sport Ireland in supporting the riders, owners, breeders and equestrian centres in these difficult times. Irish Sport TV, the platform which has been covering show jumping for over 10 years, will cover the remaining four Grand Prix events which boast a prize fund of €6,000 in each round.

It is hoped that live streaming of the show jumping series will encourage owners unable to travel to retain horses in competition. Most importantly, the live streaming is intended to act as a shop window for potential buyers.

Worldwide audience

This platform will make Irish show jumping available to a worldwide audience.

TRM’s Elaine Hatton commented: “It is imperative that the equestrian sector continues to move forward, embrace technology and showcase the quality horses and riders we have, not only to a national but also to a global audience. We must work together and support indigenous Irish equestrian business now more than ever.”

TRI Equestrian managing director Brendan Murphy added: “We need to provide a mechanism whereby we can showcase our horses and the sport. These are difficult times and we need to offer support and get behind new initiatives. There are so many talented horses and riders and now is the time to put our shoulder to the wheel.”

Chairman of The Show Jumpers Club, Ronan Corrigan said: “We are delighted to gain the support of TRI and TRM. We felt it was important to do something that provides a real and visible benefit to all involved in the sport.

“Horse Sport Ireland have very much stepped in to support national show jumping through the Autumn Development Series which also extends to other disciplines and we think that it is essential that the investment by sponsors is recognised and appreciated.”
