Drumiller Lough retired

THE 17-year-old gelding Drumiller Lough has been retired by the Irish Army Equitation School. The brilliant Heartbreaker-sired gelding was bred in Co Armagh by Paul Dillon and owned by the Minister For Defence. He had an exceptional career under multiple Army riders, beginning with Comdt Gerry Flynn. He won a silver medal at the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses as a six-year-old in 2009. Under Captain Michael Kelly and Captain David O’Brien, he won multiple international classes up to four-star level and finished out his career under Captain Geoff Curran where they achieved international victories in Mijas, Lier, Carmona and Millstreet.

Victory for Jobling Purser

IRISH pony rider Martha Jobling Purser won Friday’s pony team test at Keysoe CDI3* with Valido’s Starlight, scoring 70.428%. Irish pony rider Shauna Fitzgibbon and Damocles LL scored 66.200% to finish 7th in the class. Both riders compete again today. (Saturday) in the individual pony test at the Bedfordshire venue. Martha and Validos Starlight were members of the Irish pony dressage team which competed at the 2020 European Championships for Ponies in Budapest in August.
