JACK Cash, who has been very consistent with his pony Quina van’T Gestelhof in the FEI Jumping Ponies Trophy competitions, has been named as the GAIN Equine Nutrition/The Irish Field Star of the Month for December.
The pair placed fourth in the FEI Jumping Ponies Trophy opening class at Salzburg and, the next day, also took fourth place in the FEI Pony Trophy Grand Prix.
They attended the final in Mechelen, Belgium, starting out in joint 24th place. Jack’s consistency paid off, as he secured a seventh place finish in the first of the three final competitions; he claimed another top-10 placing in the second final, where he came 10th and, at the end of the third final, Jack was the highest placed of the Irish competitors, finishing in a very creditable fifth place overall.
Jack’s pony, Quina van’T Gestelhof, is an eight-year-old chesnut Belgian Warmblood mare by For Pleasure and, while he also rides other ponies, he is obviously able to get the best out of her at the very top level of pony show jumping.
