CONGRATULATIONS to Anna Merveldt who has be voted The Irish Field/Gain Equine Nutrition Star of the Month for March. Anna was nominated after finishing second on the podium in the CDI3* Grand Prix of Ornago, Italy, with Esporim.
Taj Mahal sold to Britain
SUSAN Magnier’s talented 10-year-old stallion Taj Mahal has been sold to British young rider Keira Stoute (18) of Keysoe International Equestrian Centre. The mount of Cian O’Connor, Taj Mahal had multiple results at the top level of the sport, including winning the three-star Grand Prix at Knokke in Belgium as a nine-year-old.
Louth Hunter Trials
THE rescheduled Louth Hunt hunter trials take place tomorrow, Sunday April 30th, at Tattersalls Farm, Ratoath. There will be the usual competitions of Open Singles, Open Pairs, Novice Singles, Novice Pairs, backed up by classes for Pre Novice-Singles and Pre Novice-Pairs.
A signed and witnessed waiver will be required. Email lhcwaivers@gmail.com to submit your waiver or to request a copy of it. A legal representative will be present at the event to witness the signing of waivers. PL insurance is not required. Entries are open Plain Sailing and will also be taken on the day.
Kentucky underway
THE CCI5* Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day-Event is underway in Lexington, USA. Kentucky is the second five-star of the year and first of the big majors. There are no Irish competing but among the top favourites is Britain’s Yasmin Ingham with Banzai du Loir. Britain’s Tom McEwen led after day one aboard JL Dublin on a score of 22.6. A full report will appear in next week’s paper.
