ESTABLISHED equine agent Meryl Connaughton and Becky Cullen, the former High Performance manager of the Irish pony eventing team, are organising a viewing day at Killossery Lodge Stud on Wednesday, October 30th, which will showcase an elite selection of Irish eventing ponies.
As the fixture aims to bring together riders, trainers and potential buyers from all over Europe and beyond, the venue with its excellent facilities is ideal being just 15 minutes from Dublin airport. The showcase is due to start at 10am and ponies can be tried in the afternoon.
“Ireland has long been recognised for producing world-class ponies, and this showcase allows us to present the very best we have to offer,” said Connaughton. “With decades of experience sourcing event ponies for international competition, I’m excited to bring together a collection of ponies that represent the skill, agility and temperament required for success on the global stage.”
Cullen, who led the Irish pony team to numerous victories during her tenure as High Performance manager, brings unparalleled insight into what it takes to succeed in the competitive equestrian world. Her involvement ensures the ponies on display meet the highest standards, giving buyers confidence in their ability to perform at the highest levels.
“The Irish pony has a unique combination of strength, agility and heart, making them perfect for riders of all levels, from emerging talent to seasoned competitors,” said Cullen. “This showcase is an opportunity for riders to find their next champion, while also highlighting the incredible breeding programmes and training standards we have here in Ireland.”
The showcase will feature ponies suited for a variety of levels in eventing from 90cm through to FEI and European Championship level, all of whom have been carefully selected for their athleticism, temperament and potential for success in competition. Attendees will have the chance to observe these ponies in action through live demonstrations, while also benefitting from expert consultations with Connaughton, Cullen and other industry professionals.
