HORSE Sport Ireland affiliate bodies have been invited to a sitting of the Joint Committee on Agriculture Food and the Marine at Leinster House next Wednesday.

The Irish Field understands ShowJumping Ireland, the Equestrian Competition Venue Owners (ECVOA), The Royal Dublin Society (RDS) and the Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association (IDHBA) are among the bodies invited to attend.

The agenda had not been released publicly at the time of print, but it is expected that an ongoing rift between Horse Sport Ireland and certain affiliates will be discussed.

Speaking on behalf of ShowJumping Ireland, Ronan Corrigan told The Irish Field this week that: “We hope to gain the support of those elected that they will assist us in ensuring the industry is looked after and managed correctly”. The Irish Field will cover the meeting in next week’s edition.
