A PERSONAL injuries claim case involving one of the country’s best known hunt clubs has been settled after being briefly mentioned at the Four Courts yesterday morning (Friday).

The case of Mr Frank Quirke versus the Tipperary Foxhounds Hunt Club was the first to be mentioned on the Personal Injuries List – held remotely in Court 1 with Mr Justice Cross presiding – yesterday morning at 10.30am.

A timeframe of two to three weeks was cited by a legal representative in the matter and Mr Justice Cross replied that he would assign the case to himself before moving onto the next matter on the Personal Injuries (P.I.) list.

Shortly afterwards, word emerged that this case had been settled with undisclosed settlement terms.

The Irish Masters of Foxhounds Association (IMFHA) confirmed to The Irish Field yesterday (Friday) that they had received word via their barrister, Mr Liam Nolan, that this case has now been settled. Terms of settlement have not been disclosed.

The case arose out of the life-changing injuries unfortunately suffered by Mr Quirke, a married man with a large family, while he was hunting with the Tipperary Foxhounds at a meet from Ballydine held shortly before Christmas 2019.
