Mr Jackie Corrigan RIP
THE death took place of John Henry (Jackie) Corrigan of Lisgarvan House, Ballon, Co Carlow on January 26th. Pre-deceased by his daughter-in-law Dorcas and brother Billy, Jackie was the beloved husband of Emily and much loved father of Clive and Willie. Deeply regretted by his wife, sons and Jane, grandchildren Kate, Amy, Grace, Liam and Ava, sisters Florence, Sydney and Marion, extended relatives and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing in Kearney’s Funeral Home, Fenagh, today (Saturday) from 4pm-6pm. Removal on Sunday to arrive at Adelaide Memorial Church, Myshall, for 2pm funeral service followed by burial in adjoining churchyard. (House private on Sunday).
Mrs Ita Hoey RIP
THE death took place on January 19th of Mrs Ita Hoey of Raholland House, Bellestown, Co Meath, in the loving care of her family in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her husband Pat, Ita will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Elaine and Derville, sons-in-law Paul and Noel, granddaughter Tamara, extended family, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Mr Anthony Browne RIP
THE funeral service takes place today (Saturday) of Midlands businessman and longtime sponsor, Anthony Browne of Baylin, Athlone. Anthony’s AB Oil business sponsored the All Ireland filly foal final, held at Moate show, for over 30 years. May he rest in peace.
Dondante wins USEA title
THE Irish Sport Horse Dondante has won the United States Eventing Association (USEA) Horse of the Year title for 2022 after a string of consistent placings. Bred in Co Monaghan by Francis Brennan, the 13-year-old is by Pacino out of Muckno Clover, by Euro Clover, and is one of Will Coleman’s team of five-star Irish-breds.
