ISH Studbook eventing league

THE 2021 ISH Studbook Young Horse Eventing Series will get started at Rosanna on Sunday, May 30th. A total of six legs will take place, including the final at Tattersalls on August 22nd where the presentations for the overall ISH league winners will be made.

Alison Corbally, HSI director of breeding said: “We are delighted to continue the ISH Young Horse Eventing league for 2021. The aim of the ISH Young Horse League is to further assist in the progressive production of young event horses within the country. This is the seventh year of the series that has continued to grow and has proved very to be a popular and competitive series on the eventing calendar. We wish all the producers and athletes the best of luck through the series this year.”

David O’Brien, chairman of Eventing Ireland, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our young horses to compete amongst other horses their age group. The ISH Studbook Series has produced some excellent horses since its inception and we look forward to watching the potential of these young horses grow.”

Endurance World Championships

THE Longines FEI Endurance World Championships get underway in Pisa, Italy, next Saturday, May 22nd. Tom MacGuinness (Horseware Sasha d’Aillais) and Amy McAuley (Faraan) both line out for Ireland at the event. See next week’s The Irish Field for more coverage of the championships.

Tullamore Show cancelled

THE 2021 Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show has been cancelled. A statement said: “Preparations for the Tullamore Show that we have all become accustomed to, takes months of planning and this has not been possible due to the high levels of uncertainty that remain.

All options had been examined to run the National Livestock element of the Tullamore Show however after consultations with the dairy, beef and sheep breed societies, some concerns were raised due to a lack clarity and unclear guidance.” The 2022 show is due to take place on August 14th.

British Eventing to host CCI5*

BRITISH Eventing will consider running a one-off CCI5* event this year following the cancellation of Badminton and Burghley. A statement said: “Following the very disappointing news that Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials will not be running this year, BE are working closely with the FEI and other stakeholders to consider all other options for hosting a CCI5* class in the UK as a one-off event this year. We are exploring all available possibilities and are committed to doing all that we can to see the highest level of the sport being hosted in Great Britain this year.”
