THE dates and venues for the Irish Pony Club’s national championships in 2025 were ratified at a meeting of the executive on Tuesday evening.
Both the national dressage day and the hunter trial championships are scheduled for April, the former taking place at CoilÓg, Co Kildare on Tuesday the 15th. Reverting to their spring date, after the weather caused their postponement this year, and to a one-day format, the hunter trials will be staged on Saturday, April 26th in Crecora, Co Limerick.
Killossery Lodge Stud in north Co Dublin will again be the venue for the national minimus championships over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, June 14th and 15th. The three-day IPC Festival will be held once more at Barnadown, Co Wexford, starting on Wednesday, July 23rd. Catering for those who have qualified through their Areas, the Festival will feature dressage, combined training and show jumping finals for teams and individuals and also mounted games at all levels.
Co Kildare, and in particular Punchestown racecourse, will again be the focus of those who qualify for the national tetrathlon championships (Saturday and Sunday, August 16th and 17th) with the national eventing championships taking place the following weekend at Tattersalls Ireland. The show jumping Classic is scheduled for CoilÓg on Sunday, September 7th. The Mounted Games committee will round out the competition year with its international two-day fixture at Barnadown on October 25th and 26th.
“We would like to thank all the sponsors and partners we worked with this year and look forward to working with them again in 2025,” said Ivan Hatton, the IPC’s Head of Eventing, who was speaking on behalf of all discipline committees. “We would also like to thank our landowners and officials and the many, many volunteers, without whom we couldn’t run any competitions.”
The dates and venues of all championships, plus those of the Area qualifiers for the Festival and the one-day event, minimus and tetrathlon qualifiers will shortly be published on the Irish Pony Club website.
