Camphire 2021 cancelled
Unfortunately, the 2021 SemaLease Camphire International Horse Trials & Country Fair have been cancelled, it was announced this week.
Expressing “huge disappointment’’ over the cancellation, the organisers vowed that the Co Waterford event will return in 2022.
Camphire’s dates for 2022 will be over the bank holiday weekend of Thursday to Sunday, July 28th - 31st.
As Camphire takes place over working farmland, in conjunction with generous landowners, the lead time and planning to prepare the ground involves significant time and expenditure and proved impossible with Covid this year.
Director of the Sema Lease Camphire International Horse Trials & Country Fair, Paul Brady, commented: “After careful deliberation, we have come to the extremely difficult decision to cancel this year’s Sema Lease Camphire International Horse Trials & Country Fair.
“I feel for everyone whose hopes have been quashed - for the equestrian community in Ireland and around the world, for our local communities in Cappoquinn and the wider Waterford area, as well as all our suppliers, supporters, retailers, volunteers and visitors who will not be able to enjoy this glorious event this year.
“We will be focusing all our efforts on delivering a spectacular event in 2022.”
