ARTHUR Sheane, son of Cooley Farm’s Georgina and Richard Sheane, and his horse Aztor won the Novice Single driving class at the British National Championships last weekend in Ashfields. He led from the start of the competition to win the National title.
The Irish were well-represented with Don Walsh, who was in the same class, and Robert O’Leary, who competed in the team class. Arthur was supported by a strong Irish contingency, who travelled over and in particular by Richard Logan, who normally competes for Ireland, but was on the back step job with Arthur this year.
Arthur also represented Ireland at the European Youth Carriage Championships in Sweden earlier this summer with his pony Lulu.
