SUE Shortt has named her Gain Equine Nutrition young rider and junior eventing teams for the upcoming European Championships in Strzegom, Poland, from August 21st-25th
Horse Sport Ireland youth and junior eventing manager Shortt said: “I am delighted to announce the Junior and Young Rider teams for the upcoming European Championships in Strzegom. There is huge strength and depth in the Junior squad this year and it has been an extremely difficult decision.
“I believe that I have selected a very strong team, who have all achieved top four finishes at senior international level in the last 12 months, and that are most suited to the conditions that we will face in Strzegom.
“Godfrey Gibbons leads the Young Rider team following an individual seventh placing at last year’s Europeans. He is joined by five talented combinations that are new to three-star Championship level, but have posted some impressive results this year.
“I would like to thank my coaches Heike Holstein, Gerald Bloomer, John Ledingham, our team vet J.P. King and our administrator Aileen Cartwright for their expertise and commitment to the High Performance programmes. Also a huge thanks to all our sponsors: Gain, Bucas, Dubarry, Equieire, Flex-on, KEP Italia, Berney Bros and TRM – your support is greatly appreciated.”
