HORSE Sport Ireland’s national coaching and breeding conference ‘Production of Horses for Profit and Performance’ is now just over a week away.
The conference will address breeding, training, management and preparation of competition horses and riders for optimum performance.
The keynote speaker of the day will be 13-time French international show jumping medallist Michel Robert, who will explain and demonstrate training exercises to improve both young horses and more experienced horses to maximise their competitive performances.
British Equestrian Federation (BEF) rider physiotherapist Andy Thomas will advise and demonstrate how to correct the rider’s position and how common posture issues can affect both horse and rider performance.
Breeding experts Jacques Verkerk and Dr Emmeline Hill will advise on making the correct breeding decisions and what qualities to look for when selecting young stock.
The day will also feature Irish show jumping riders Greg Broderick, Sophie Dalm and Capt. Michael Kelly in practical demonstrations.
The coaching and breeding conference will take place on Wednesday, October 29th from 9am to 5pm at Cavan EC, costing €50 per adult and €45 per student/child (including lunch).
