THE Kildare Branch of the IDHBA recently held their now annual Working Hunter Show in the arenas at Punchestown Racecourse. With strict Covid-19 protocols in place, the show ran like clockwork thanks to the co-operation of all the participants, volunteers, stewards and judges. There were classes from 80cm to 1m for Irish Draughts, Traditional Irish Horses (TIH) and leisure horses. Also on the schedule was one ridden class for purebred four-year-old Irish Draughts.

The very nicely presented working hunter track, laid out by designer Gordon Bryan, gave youngsters and experienced horses alike a wonderful opportunity to show their performance skills before judge Ruth Wiseman while Denise Norton judged conformation and flatwork in an adjoining arena.
