DARK Angel, consistently one of the best stallions in Europe for over 10 years, will again command a fee of €60,000 next season at Yeomanstown Stud.

The grey horse, who turns 19 in 2024, reached the landmark figure of 100 individual stakes winners this year. His two new Group 1 winners were sprint stars Khaadem and Art Power, both of whom won at the highest level at Ascot.

Khaadem won the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, while Art Power won the Champions Sprint Stakes over the same six-furlong course last month.

A proven source of precocity and speed, Dark Angel was the leading sire of sprinters in 2023 and his yearlings averaged €94,444, with a high of €850,000 for the full-sister to top-class juvenile Charyn.

Shaman will remain at a fee of €5,000 after his first yearlings were well received at the sales, averaging over four and a half times his fee, with two colts making £80,000 at Tattersalls October Book 1 and the Goffs UK Premier Sale, a filly realising €85,000 at the Orby and another of his daughters selling for €75,000 at the Arqana August Yearling Sale.

Purchasers included Wertheimer et Frere, Richard Ryan, Rabbah, Peter & Ross Doyle, Jean-Claude Rouget, Dwayne Woods, Richard Fahey, Blandford Bloodstock, Highflyer Bloodstock, Manor House Stables, Sean Grassick and Jack Channon.

Supremacy will also remain at a fee of €10,000. The first foals of the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes and Richmond Stakes winner will be presented at the sales over the coming weeks. A spokesperson for Yeomanstown said: "He has produced some excellent foals at Yeomanstown, with great strength and quality, and reports from breeders echo that he is really stamping his stock."

Invincible Army made a promising start with his first crop on the track this year, recording 12 individual winners, including stakes winner Kitty Rose, who is an exciting classic prospect for next season. He will stand for a fee of €5,000 in 2024, a 33% discount on this year's fee.
