A DRAFT of horses from the Willie Mullins yard dominated this week’s online ThoroughBid Sale.

Topping the Closutton consignment was El Fabienne, a five-year-old Spanish Moon mare related to El Fabiolo, who was sold for £12,000 to “Another Partnership”. Placed second in a point-to-point, she has been unplaced in three bumper starts.

Implicit, a six-year-old daughter of Authorized, was sold for £5,000. The mare won two hurdle races earlier this year but failed to complete on her latest four starts.

Shark Hanlon famously bought subsequent Grade 1 winner Skyace out of the Mullins yard for £650. This week Hanlon’s partner Rachel O’Neill gave £3,500 for the six-year-old Felix Summus, who finished a remote fifth in a Downpatrick bumper for Mullins earlier this month.

Jack O’Hanlon was listed as the buyer of the Mullins-trained Dacman (pulled up on his sole bumper start) for £1,000.

Andrew McNamara always seems to keeps an eye on online auctions and he submitted the winning bid of precisely £5,431 for the Mullins-trained Maroto, who finished third in a Roscommon maiden hurdle this month.

Immelmann, a Thurles flat maiden winner for Mullins last year, sold for £4,000.

A handful of wildcard entries also made some of the biggest prices and Henry de Bromhead sold three of them.

The eight-year-old Gateau De Miel fetched £7,500. He won a hurdle and chase a couple of years ago for de Bromhead but has been out of form lately. Stable companion Time For Tea, a Youmzain half-sister to three winners, made £6,000, and the eight-year-old True Faith (won two chases in 2022) sold for £3,500.

Ben Pauling sold Top Man Tom, a five-year-old gelding by Ask who finished second in a Uttoxeter maiden hurdle last month, for £13,500 to Dave Armstrong.

Other notable transactions included Noel Meade selling Tea Olive for £3,000 and Gordon Elliott disposing of Pacini for £3,500 and The Tide Turns for £1,600.

Of the 48 lots catalogued, 28 were sold and generated total turnover of £121,900.
