THERE are 543 yearlings catalogued for Goffs Orby Book 1 and details are now online.
Orby Book 1 will be followed by Orby Book 2, which replaces the Sportsman’s Sale. All yearlings offered over the four days will be eligible for the new Goffs Two Million Series which offers a guaranteed minimum prize fund of €2 million exclusive to buyers at Goffs.
The Two Million Series is headed by the Goffs Million, on the eve of the 2024 sale over seven furlongs at the Curragh with a prize fund of €1 million. The same card will feature the Goffs 500 over six furlongs with a value of €500,000 and both races will pay prize money to 10th place.
In addition, the Goffs €50,000 Bonus Series will see €50,000 bonuses paid to the winners of a diverse range of two-year-old maidens on Irish racecourses throughout 2024.
The Book 1 catalogue includes a Kingman half-brother to champion filly Skitter Scatter that topped last year’s Goffs November Foal Sale.
The colt is consigned by Stauffenberg Bloodstock who will sell under their own banner for the first time at Orby and they will also offer a half-sister to this year’s German Derby winner Fantastic Moon.
Tinnakill House offers a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winning State Of Rest. She is by Sea The Stars who is also sire of a half-brother to Irish Guineas winner Phoenix Of Spain and a full-sister to Group 1 winner Shraaoh.
Kingman is also the sire of a half-brother to 2000 Guineas winner Saxon Warrior and a filly out of the Niarchos family’s Group 2 winner Bocca Baciata.
The catalogue also includes half-brothers to 2000 Guineas winner Poetic Flare and 1000 Guineas winner Mother Earth. The latter also won the Group 1 Prix Rothschild, a race won by Saffron Beach whose own-sister by New Bay will be offered here.
Yearlings from the final draft of Galileo include a full-brother to Group 2 winner Delphi and a colt out of Group 3 winner Wind Chimes.
Goffs CEO Henry Beeby said: “A stated ambition of Goffs is to attract more of the top tier Irish yearlings to Orby and we are thrilled to present two larger days of impeccable quality in Orby Book 1 following increased support from leading breeders.
“They have been persuaded by the massive international buying bench that attended last year’s successful sale and the evolution of the Goffs Two Million Series which means that only Orby yearlings will compete for a massive €2 million next year.”
The catalogue for Orby Book 2 will be available online on Monday.
