ALL four books for the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in Newmarket have been published.

Stretching over two weeks, from Tuesday, October 3rd to Saturday, October 14th, the October Yearling Sale will see over 2,000 yearlings offered for sale at Park Paddocks.

Last year’s Book 1 produced 16 seven-figure lots. The top price was 2.8 million guineas and the median was 200,000gns. Frankel provided the top four lots last year and this year the leading sire is represented by 22 yearlings. There are 19 by Dubawi listed and just one yearling from the final crop of Galileo in the catalogue - a filly from Glenvale Stud.

All 532 lots in Book 1 are eligible for the Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus, which is set to increase in value from £20,000 to £25,000 in 2024 and has paid out over £7.5 million in bonus prize money to date to 329 individual winners.

Book 2’s median price last year came in at 70,000gns and the top lot was 800,000gns. The 2023 catalogue runs to 819 lots and features own or half-brothers and sisters to 212 group and listed race winners. There are 649 yearlings in Book 3 and 110 in Book 4.

Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: “Europe’s leading yearling consignors consistently send their elite yearlings to Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale, confident that so many of the world’s leading owners hold the sale in the highest esteem. In the last 15 months, Book 2 has provided the winner of last year’s Derby in Desert Crown as well as multiple Group 1 winners Emily Upjohn and State Of Rest, both purchased for just 60,000gns. All demonstrate the exceptional quality and value to be found during the second week of the October Yearling Sale.”
