SHARK Hanlon has entered 30 lots for the Goffs October HIT & Yearling Sale, which takes place at Doncaster on Tuesday, October 22nd.

Hanlon, who is due to start a five-month suspension on December 1st unless his appeal is successful next week, has entered a mix of unraced stock, pointers and horses that have raced under rules.

His entries include I Am Spiderman, who has won two Class 3 hurdle races this season, and Lion City, who won his maiden bumper on his most recent start at Sedgefield.

There are 171 horses in the catalogue, predominately horses-in-training. They include some promising younger types, such as debut bumper winner Murat, who delivered a smart performance at Killarney for his trainer Peter Lawlor, stretching clear in the closing stages after running prominently to win his only start by over five lengths.

Other notable entries are the three-year-old Teriferma, who has won two of his three hurdle starts for Joseph O’Brien, and Not Now Darling, winner of her debut bumper for Andy Slattery at Killarney.

Another to note is the five-year-old Bosh (Lot 44), who has won twice this season over six-furlongs for Richard Hannon and has achieved a BHA rating of 93.

Other trainers represented with horses in the sale include Brian Ellison, Charlie Johnston, Charlie Longsdon, Dan Skelton, David Barron, Donald McCain, Ian Williams, Jamie Snowden, John Quinn, Karl Burke, Kevin Ryan, Nigel Tinkler, Oliver Greenall, Olly Murphy, Stuart Crawford, Tim Easterby, Tim Vaughan, Tom Ellis and Tom Lacey.

The prolific sprinter Alfa Kellenic has been flying the flag for the yearling section of this sale, having won six races so far this season, including the Ayr Silver Cup.

Sires with yearlings in the catalogue include Ardad, Iffraaj, Invincible Army, Mohaather, Sergei Prokofiev, Showcasing, Starman and Supremacy.

Goffs UK managing director, Tim Kent said: “The October Sale offers buyers their last chance to secure a Donny yearling in 2024 and, with some yearlings eligible for the Great British Bonus and Harry’s Half Million by Goffs, buyers can purchase in the hope of picking up their share of significant prize money on the track.

“The catalogue also features some attractive young NH stock, as well as horses from many of the leading trainers, so there is plenty of quality to capture the attention of buyers.”
